Dental Lab Floor Supervisor at PRIDE Enterprises – Raiford, Florida

Job Summary: Supervises and trains inmates in every aspect of dental appliance manufacturing and its supporting processes. Performs digital scans, and printing and milling of dental appliances. Provides customer support. Ensures Dental Lab safety and tool control procedures are followed. Assists Management with dental process improvements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

1. Supervise and train inmates in dental appliance manufacturing and supporting processes at the PRI Dental Lab.
2. Ensure compliance with FDC rules and regulations.
3. Assist Management in achieving organization goals and objectives by ensuring efficient operation of the Dental Lab processes and reporting deviations to Management.
4. Assist, as assigned by Management, with any aspect of maintenance of the facility, machinery and equipment.
5. Ensure efficient and economic consumption of raw materials and operational supplies, report waste and opportunities for inventory management improvements to Management.
6. Actively work with PRI staff and stakeholders to grow the PRI Dental Lab market share by assisting in acquiring new customer accounts and growing existing accounts
7. Ensure specification compliant products through quality inspection, training and awareness of inmate workers.
8. Actively participate, as directed by Management, with the Company’s continuous process improvement initiatives.
9. Promote a professional team cohesive atmosphere for all staff and inmate workers, focused on productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement.
10. Assist in OJT and CRC assignments for inmate workers and achieving the Mission Goals set for the Dental Lab.
11. Assist in the inmate worker hiring process as assigned by Management.
12. Handle customer service telephone calls, Doctor requested phone calls etc.
13. Any other duty assigned by Management.

Education and Experience: High school/GED, + 2 years supervisory experience. Mechanical aptitude and ability, some manufacturing experience helpful.

Language Skills: Ability to read and write such documents as routine correspondence; lab prescriptions, procedural manuals, and industry technical publications. Must be able to speak in front of groups of people within the industry and the institution. Must be able to communicate with dentists in technical terms.

Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills.

Reasoning Ability: Mechanical aptitude and ability.

Specialized Knowledge and/or Skill: Operation of all laboratory equipment. Must be highly skilled in fabrication of Removable and Fixed fabrication of all dental appliances. Ability to teach and coach workers in critical situations and operations. High volume production and manufacturing techniques skills required Must be knowledgeable in fabrication of dental appliances, removable using Analog methods. Acquire FDC training to supervise inmate workers and have basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or office equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is exposed to fumes or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud – the dust level is moderate.
