Our lighter-than-air high-altitude platform systems (LTA HAPS) are capable of maintaining position over an operational area in the stratosphere (altitudes of 18 – 21km). Our HAPS be deployed in a matter of days and at a fraction of the cost of traditional infrastructure solutions. About the Position:
Sceye is seeking a Training – Mission Operations full-time employee who will design, develop, manage, and deliver a comprehensive training program to ensure mission readiness and operational excellence. The role involves designing, developing, managing, and delivering all training for Mission Operations personnel including Launch, Mission Operators, Recovery, and Technical Subject Matter Experts, ensuring all personnel are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to execute safe and successful high-altitude missions.
The Training – Mission Operations position will be multi functional across Mission Operations, with a primary depth in training systems and a secondary ability to support mission planning, live mission operations, test execution, and post mission analysis.
- Create and oversee synchronous and asynchronous training initiatives supporting flight tests and mission operations
- Build a team of Instructors within the Mission Operations Team, co-facilitating high-quality training sessions while ensuring consistent delivery or training content
- Work closely with Engineering, Mission Operations, and Safety to tailor training programs to evolving mission needs and integrate new methodologies
- Ensure compliance with regulatory training requirements, internal Safety protocols, and maintain accurate training records and mission certiffications
- Use data-informed decisions to continuously improve training efficiency and efficacy, incorporating feedback and lessons learned
- Provide training simulator requirements to modeling and simulation development teams
- Create syllabi and training standards
- Design, develop, and deliver operational training scenarios that align with future mission sets
- Assist with the development and maintenance of simulated environments including servers, applications, and automation
- Act as the Training Simulation Supervisor
- Assist with authoring, validating, and maintaining Flight Procedures
- Help validate new User Interface features, configurations, and/or system changes prior to operational use
- Help identify repetitive operational tasks that may benefit from automation
- Support mission planning and readiness activities as required
- Perform console operations during flight tests and live missions
- Participate in post-mission debriefs and lessons learned activities and resolution
- Provide surge support to other Mission Operations functions as operational tempo requires
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong desire to learn from System SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) across vehicle design, software, power systems, and RF (radio frequency) links
- Ability to distill complex technical discussions into clear, actionable tasks for the Mission Operations team
- Experience with or a high aptitude for learning Google Earth
- Willingness to take ownership and drive continuous improvements
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical mindset
- Detail-oriented with exceptional documentation habits

Required Qualifications:
- Background in aerospace, aviation, training and development
- 7+ years experience in operational training, mission operations, and/or flight training program management, with a focus on developing technical training programs for aviation, aerospace, or defense-related operations
- Excellent verbal and written communication sills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Strong coaching skills
- Experience with simulation-based training and competency-based training programs
- Proven experience in leading teams, managing high-risk flight operations, and developing new capabilities to enhance mission operations
- Willingness to be multi-functional across Mission Operations
- Positive, adaptable, and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving across multi-disciplinary teams
- Comfortable working in fast-paced and austere environments where safety, discipline, and attention to detail matter
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor degree in aerospace or physical science
- Proficiency is programming languages
- Hands-on experience with HAPS, UAVs, or large-scale flight operations
- Experience working with telemetry, ground control systems, or real-time data monitoring
- Prior military, UAV, or flight test operations background
