Essential Functions
- Assists with implementing and maintaining company policies that adhere to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.
- Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly.
- Assists with performing experiments and reports findings on environmental consequences of equipment, tools, and procedures.
- May also design, install, operate and maintain measuring apparatus to determine the level of pollutants involving air, land, and water.
- Supports in identifying, assessing and resolving problems concerning the environment.
- Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policy and procedure manuals.
- Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
- Required education and experience: Attending a Vocational / Technical School or internal training program OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & Experience or Skillset; No prior experience needed
- Preferred education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree
- Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred
- Knowledge, skills & abilities: Environmental compliance. Safety best practices. Safety communications. Safety inspections. Safety training. Safety policies and procedures. Inspection documentation.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
