Job Description
Candidates must be dependable, able to work in a fast-paced environment, self-motivated, capable of multitasking, and have a professional demeanor, exceptional customer service skills, and proficiency in using electronic medical record systems, word processing software, and other office technologies. The Medical Receptionist is a crucial member of the healthcare team, responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the front desk. This role involves a combination of patient registration, communication, patient support, and administrative tasks. The Medical Receptionist will act as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, creating a welcoming and supportive environment.
Wednesday - Friday 10:00 am - 6:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday – 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Monday & Tuesday OFF
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to all patients, visitors, and healthcare providers, demonstrating empathy, respect, and professionalism in all interactions.
- Front Desk Reception: Greet patients and visitors courteously and professionally, ensuring a positive and efficient check-in/check-out experience.
- Patient Registration: Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information accurately and efficiently. Update patient records as necessary.
- Answering Telephone Calls: Answer, screen, and direct incoming telephone calls in a timely and professional manner. Take and relay messages accurately. Schedule and confirm appointments.
- Patient Transport: Transport patients to and from procedures within the facility, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Translation Assistance: Provide translation services to patients as needed, ensuring effective communication between patients and medical staff.
- Front Desk and Patient-Related Issues: Address and resolve patient inquiries and front desk-related issues promptly and professionally. Escalate complex situations to the appropriate personnel
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a receptionist in a medical setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is desirable.
