Job Description

Drive growth. Build relationships. Shape opportunity. We're looking for a Business Development Manager who sees beyond transactions to build lasting partnerships and doesn't just support growth—they actively create it. This role sits at the center of strategy, relationships, and execution—partnering with leadership and project teams to identify opportunities, open doors, and win work by understanding what truly drives our clients: their vision, challenges, and goals. If you're energized by connecting the dots between people's ambitions and real opportunities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where insight becomes action, we'd like to talk. This is a high-impact role with real visibility, driving projects from concept to completion. What You’ll Do: You'll be a strategic partner to leadership and a relationship catalyst across teams:
  • Partner with Business Development Leaders to shape and execute growth strategies
  • Conduct market research and translate insights into actionable growth opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, industry associations, and business networks
  • Cultivate opportunities through strategic vendor and subconsultant partnerships
  • Partner with Office Leaders and Project Managers to identify and develop new opportunities
  • Support the development of proposals, presentations, and RFP submissions
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing and project teams to position winning pursuits
  • Identify, evaluate, and attend high-value industry and networking events
  • Track and assess ROI on events, recommending where to invest (and where not to)
  • Facilitate introductions between clients, partners, and internal teams
  • Support project pipeline tracking and site curation efforts
  • Serve as a resource and mentor on business development best practices
  • Assist in training and elevating BD capabilities across the organization
What You Bring:
  • 5+ years of business development or related experience
  • Background in AEC (architecture, engineering, construction) or similar professional services (legal, accounting, finance) preferred
  • Proven track record in market research, opportunity development, and building lasting client relationships
  • Experience with CRM platforms (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to connect authentically across all levels
  • Strategic thinking combined with strong execution and follow-through
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the drive to create opportunities and manage competing priorities
  • Natural ability to bridge technical and business perspectives across diverse teams
  • Genuine curiosity about what motivates clients and drives their decision-making
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Business, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Willingness to travel periodically
What Sets You Apart:
  • You don't just wait for opportunities—you actively create them
  • You innately understand how to turn relationships into revenue-driving opportunities
  • You can move seamlessly between strategy and execution
  • You bring energy, curiosity, and a genuine interest in the industry
Why This Role:This is more than a typical business development role—it's a chance to shape strategy, build meaningful industry relationships, and directly drive company growth. You'll collaborate with experienced leaders while having the autonomy to make your vision a reality.
