Bring campus events to life! Join CCD’s Student Leadership and Belonging Office as a Student Engagement Assistant and help plan, promote, and support engaging student activities
The Student Leadership and Belonging (SLB) Office fosters inclusion, engagement, and community on campus by supporting student organizations and hosting events. Student Event Programmersplayavitalroleinthismissionbyassistingwithfrontdeskoperations,coordinating logistics, and ensuring events are welcoming, professional, and accessible to all students.
Event planning and coordination from start to finish
Professional communication and public speaking
Marketing and outreach strategies (flyers, social media, campus promotion) Customer service and front desk operations
Problem-solving and adaptability in dynamic environments Collaboration with peers, staff, and tri-institutional partners
Art, Communication &Design–through event promotion, flyer creation ,and outreach Business – through planning, coordination, and organizational skills
Education – through community building, student engagement, and leadership development
Byimplementingeventsandsupportingstudentleadership,thisroledirectlycontributestothese academic areas, offering real-world experience in communication, planning, and professional collaboration.

- Event implementation (planning, setup, takedown, day-of support) – 30%
- Event planning and coordination – 20%
- Frontdesksupport(answeringphones,greetingstudents,providingawelcomingenvironment, assisting students) – 30%
- Event promotion (create flyers, social media content, hang flyers, outreach) – 20%
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Must be able to walk long distances across campus and lift up to 25 pounds
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Public speaking and event planning experience preferred
- Ability to stay organized, problem-solve, and adapt to changing needs
- Interest in building community and supporting student engagement
