Pharmacy Cashier

Key Responsibilities:

- Greet customers warmly and assist with their transactions at the pharmacy counter

- Process sales and handle cash, credit, and insurance payments accurately

- Maintain an organized and clean checkout area

- Answer customer inquiries and direct them to appropriate pharmacy staff when needed

- Ensure compliance with all pharmacy policies and procedures

- Manage inventory levels at the checkout station and report shortages or discrepancies

- Support pharmacy staff with administrative tasks as required

Skills and Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Previous cashier or retail experience preferred

- Excellent customer service and communication skills

- Basic math skills and proficiency with cash handling

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

- Attention to detail and accuracy

- Familiarity with pharmacy operations and confidentiality standards is a plus

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Job Qualifications include:

1. Must be a High School Graduate.
2. Experience with office work including typing, computers and office equipment.
3. Medical billing experience preferred, but general office experience, with a good understanding of office functions is required.
4. Knowledge of billing and collection preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to carry, climb, hear/listen, lift, reach and manipulate objects, tools, or equipment, push/pull, see, speak, squat/kneel, stand, and walk. Position requires moving materials weighing 10 – 20 pounds, and 25 – 50 pounds on an occasional basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 80% of the work period. Work involves the potential for exposure to infection. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
