Technical Sales Agronomist

This role offers a dynamic opportunity to combine agronomic expertise with strategic sales impact in the Western and Midwest U.S. agricultural markets. The Technical Sales Agronomist will provide technical guidance, support product adoption, and lead field trials while collaborating with sales, marketing, and research teams. You will influence key stakeholders, including growers, distributors, and consultants, by delivering actionable agronomic insights and recommendations. This position involves hands-on fieldwork, data analysis, and training while contributing to business growth and product launch readiness. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about sustainable agriculture, crop protection, and Precision Agriculture technologies. Travel across the U.S. and occasionally Canada is expected to support relationships and field initiatives.

Accountabilities:
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with growers, retailers, distributors, consultants, and universities to increase confidence in agricultural solutions.

  • Plan, execute, and oversee applied field trials, including protocol development, data collection, analysis, visualization, and reporting.

  • Deliver agronomic training and technical support to internal teams, partners, and customers to maximize product performance and adoption.

  • Collaborate with Product Management, Biology, and Product Development teams to translate field data into localized insights and actionable strategies.

  • Provide innovative solutions for business growth leveraging technical expertise, market knowledge, and crop science insights.

  • Support cross-functional teams to identify education gaps, contribute to culture and business objectives, and ensure smooth execution of product initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Physiology, Plant Pathology, Agricultural Science, Plant Production, or related field with strong crop focus.

  • 7+ years of agronomy support, technical service, or crop protection experience in the U.S. agricultural market.

  • Demonstrated expertise in small plot trial management, agronomic analysis, and cropping systems.

  • Experience with ARM or similar programs for trial protocols and data analysis.

  • Strong understanding of crop protection products and biologicals, as well as Precision Agriculture technologies.

  • Familiarity with irrigation systems and key agronomic decision-making by growers.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, deliver presentations, and influence stakeholders across multiple levels.

  • Independent, self-motivated, problem-solving mindset with strong analytical skills.

  • Valid passport and driver’s license with willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and occasionally to Canada.
