Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st shift

Position Summary:
This position plays a key role in the CLT manufacturing department and overall product production. This position will work alongside the department lead to ensure all product attributes are thoroughly evaluated, properly recorded, and effectively communicated to appropriate parties. Quality control is critical for maintaining Sterling’s product integrity and corresponding supporting documentation.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct laboratory testing of CLT products. (ASTM D-905 Shear Block and AITC T110 Delamination testing)
  • Create small scale CLT builds andrun producttesting.
  • Organize and conduct field (or other life cycle) testing and analysis of product as needed.
  • Statistical Process Control(SPC)and analysis of data collected from the CLT processes and incoming inspection(i.e.planer thickness,moisture,CLT mat dimensions)
  • Collaboratewith CLT manager,department leads, andmaintenancedepartmentto develop visual control and processes to promote plant floor organization, storage, andworkflow.
  • Assist CLT manager inmaintaining“on the floor” document control for manufacturing andadvanced product quality planning (APQP)documents and records.
  • Analizeincoming inspection data for raw materials and make recommendations for changes to inspection levels.
  • Review processes as they relate to safety and safe operations of the CLT line and affect changes to procedures,job safety analyses (JSA’s),and the physical linetoimproveoperationalsafety.
  • Complywithandadvocate forthe company’ssafety andenvironmentalpolicies andprocedures.
  • Participates inall otherprojects as requested bymanagement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a high-volume,high automationmanufacturing environment.
  • Three (3) years’ experience in manufacturing quality control preferred.
  • Associate or bachelor’sdegree in manufacturing related field preferred.
  • Experience in 5S and Lean manufacturing (i.e.Toyota Production System)
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel,andPowerPoint.
  • Ability todemonstratesolid written,oral communication, and record keeping skills.
  • Strong proficiency with measuring devices including tape measure and calipers.
  • Understanding ofToyota Production System or Lean Manufacturing
  • Excellent analyticalproblem-solvingability.
  • Knowledge and prior implementation of Visual Factory processes.

Hourly Range: $19 - $21 per hour dependent upon experience, and qualifications.
