Job Description
The Director of Student Services is a crucial leadership role responsible for ensuring that scholars' educational needs are met through Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Special Education services?across all districts across the state of Ohio. This position requires travel among?different locations?to oversee and coordinate services effectively.?Additionally, you will foster a supportive community that encourages students and achievement. Collaboration between?colleagues,?parents, and?is crucial to ensure success. In addition, our expectation is for our instructional staff to ensure their instructional space includes Career Tech focus.??
Key Responsibilities:?
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff in the Title I and Special Education departments.?
- Ensure scholars are receiving necessary intervention support through?Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Special Education services.?
- Generate detailed reports for directors and the superintendent on scholars served and improvements gained through interventions.?
- Monitor and assess competency rates of scholars to?identify?areas for improvement and address any gaps in services.?
- Manage and?facilitate?activities related to Social Emotional Learning.??
- Oversee the transition process of special education scholars from high school to post-secondary outcomes, ensuring a smooth and successful transition.?
- Ensure that the child’s finding process is completed accurately and efficiently,?identifying?all scholars in need of specialized services upon enrollment.?
Manage and coordinate the referral process of scholars to outside services.??
- ?Ensure all Special Education Documentation meets the OEC requirements.??
- ?Complete all necessary reports related to DEW and OEC.???
- ?Provide coaching to educational staff related to intervention support.??
- ?Assist?with analyzing current intervention software.??
Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
- Assess student progress?regularly using?a variety of assessment tools and techniques.?
- Provide?timely?and constructive feedback to students to support their growth and development.?
- Use assessment data to inform instructional decisions and differentiate?instruction?accordingly.?
- Collaborate with colleagues to analyze student performance data and?identify?strategies for improvement.?
Communication and Collaboration:
- Establish?effective communication channels with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders.?
- Regularly communicate student progress, behavioral concerns, and academic achievements to parents and guardians.?
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement interdisciplinary projects and activities.?
- Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and parent-teacher conferences as?required.?
- Ability to?effectively communicate?ideas,?thoughts, opinions?with openness to understand?others while?being understood??
- Master’s degree in education, Educational Leadership, or related field.?
- Certification in Special Education Administration or related?area?preferred.?
- Experience working in intervention programs and overseeing Special Education services.?
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate a team.?
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff, directors, and external stakeholders effectively.?
- Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze data, generate reports, and make data-driven decisions.?
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to Special Education and intervention services.?
