About This Position
The Assistant Program Director - Residential is responsible for assisting in the overall daily operation and functioning of the residential houses in specified programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field required. Master's preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience and well as direct care experience with children required.
- Successful completion of a criminal record check, child abuse history clearance and physical and drug screen required.
- Valid state driver's license required.
Job Duties:
- Provide administrative coverage for multiple residential buildings including overseeing and coordinating programs and scheduling, administrative follow up and intervention with acting out clients, assuring there is adequate coverage at all times, including during crisis, assuring the safety of the children and buildings, inspecting and caring for the buildings, assuring the quality of staff-child interaction based on agency mission, policy and public regulations, as well as reading, editing and overseeing the implementation of individual treatment plans.
- Complete training each calendar year in accordance with all corporate and regulatory requirements. Ensure that all staff in programs complete required training annually.
- Assure the safety of kids and staff and the quality of residential programs consistent with the mission of KidsPeace.
- Participate in the hiring, supervising, orienting, training and evaluating child care and treatment team supervisory staff members.
- Schedule and provide campus wide coverage including staff schedules for all houses.
- Assure organizational compliance with all regulatory, accrediting, licensing, legal and other authorizing bodies.
- Oversee Quality Assurance and improvement relevant to risk management, client care vital signs (restraints, medication events, etc.) and the environment of care as defined by KidsPeace and all regulatory and accrediting bodies.
- Fully perform restraints as necessary when ordered by a licensed professional using the current approved KidsPeace restraint methodology on youth who may weigh in excess of 250 pounds and who are verbally or physically threatening or otherwise presenting a threat to themselves or others.
- Meet or exceed budgeted revenue, expenditures, contribution margin and census.
- Contribute to budget development process and all related tasks.
- Provide appropriate supervision and coverage on all shifts, including regularly scheduled shifts on evenings and weekends.
- Ensure that all standards of documentation relevant to client care are rigorously upheld.
