PRACTICE MANAGER

Job Summary

Our busy medical practice is growing each day, and we are seeking an experienced and professional Medical Office Manager to join our team. In the role, the Medical Office Manager will work under the direction of the Director of Operations in providing management and leadership to our administrative team. GENERAL SUMMARY/BASIC PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Practice Manager will be primarily responsible for direct onsite management of the daily operations of the ambulatory physician practice(s) at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Holy Cross Hospital or various off-site locations. The Practice Manager partners with key leaders across Sinai Health Systems' various departments in decision-making and ensures a bidirectional flow of information. The Practice Manager promotes excellence in all areas of ambulatory operations and serves as the champion for continued process improvement work. The Practice Manager will focus on the patient and family experience, quality and safety, coordination of care across the continuum, use of technological tools and solutions including EMR, metrics reporting, customer service, and oversee the budget, billing and related revenue cycle services.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports to: System Director, Sinai Medical Group Operations
  • Provides Supervision to: Medical Assistants, MA Leads, and Receptionists.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  • Supervising, coaching and mentoring a multidisciplinary team of 15+
  • Lead the execution of in-clinic operational initiatives
  • Problem-solving team member and patient problems at the moment
  • Ensure our patients are always delighted with the level of care they receive
  • Ensure scheduling and billing processes are executed efficiently
  • Advocating for your clinic, team, and patients
  • Supporting and contributing to on-the-ground marketing initiatives
  • Generally ensuring clinic operations are running smoothly on a daily basis
  • Provide practice management in support of the physician-patient relationship in order to optimize patient access
  • Manage the practice operations and respond to patient, physician, and employee issues in a timely fashion
  • Achieve performance standards for the revenue cycle, analyze monthly physician income and expenses, manage office expenses, and partner with physician leaders to communicate financial results to physicians and staff and execute Medical Group plans for improvements
  • Ensure the People Management Cycle for physicians and staff is consistently implemented to include hiring for fit, successful onboarding, career development and coaching, and performance review

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 or more years of experience in a supervisory role within a clinical setting
  • Previous physician management experience preferred
  • Financial management, operations management, and Electronic Medical Record experience preferred
  • 340B experience is a plus
  • Hospital-Based Clinic experience is a plus.
