About the Role:

The 1st Shift Maintenance Technician, (Monday through Thursday 5:00am-2:00pm, Friday 5:00am-9:00am), plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of manufacturing or facility equipment during the primary work shift. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to minimize downtime and maintain safety standards. The technician will collaborate closely with production teams to identify potential issues before they escalate, thereby supporting continuous production flow. Additionally, the role involves maintaining accurate maintenance records and adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements. Ultimately, the Maintenance Technician contributes to the overall reliability and longevity of equipment, directly impacting operational success and workplace safety.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Familiarity with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and compliance.
  • Previous experience working in a 1st shift manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and execute timely repairs to minimize production interruptions.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs, service records, and parts inventory to support operational transparency and compliance.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while working with tools, machinery, and hazardous materials.

Skills:

The required skills enable the technician to effectively perform inspections, diagnose issues, and carry out repairs on a variety of equipment, ensuring minimal downtime. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude allows for accurate troubleshooting and maintenance of complex systems. Communication skills are essential for collaborating with team members and documenting maintenance activities clearly. Preferred skills such as familiarity with CMMS and PLCs enhance the technician's ability to manage maintenance schedules and address automation-related challenges efficiently.
