Compensation: Starting at $34.00 per hour or more, based on education, experience, certification, and internal equity
Status: Non-Exempt

What You’ll Do as a Registered Nurse
  • Perform pre-surgical assessments and telephone interviews, reviewing medical histories, medications, and relevant health information.

  • Provide comprehensive pre-operative education, addressing patient questions and concerns.

  • Ensure required documentation, testing, and clearances are completed prior to scheduled procedures.

  • Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.

  • Deliver safe, ethical, and high-quality nursing care in accordance with licensure and organizational policies.

  • Demonstrate compassion and respect for each patient’s dignity and individuality.

  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).

  • Contribute to a positive, professional work environment.

Qualifications Minimum Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required

Experience
  • Previous experience as a Registered Nurse preferred but not required

  • Prior healthcare experience in an acute or clinic setting beneficial

  • One (1) year of experience in a similar role preferred

Licensure & Certifications
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of North Carolina

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required at time of hire

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within one (1) year of hire

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of nursing scope of practice and regulatory standards

  • Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with patients, families, staff, and physicians

  • Competency in delivering safe and effective patient care

  • Strong customer service and patient-centered care approach

  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and data entry

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, position, and transfer patients weighing 50+ pounds

  • Manual dexterity and mobility including bending, squatting, twisting, and turning

  • Prolonged sitting, standing, and walking as required

  • Near visual acuity for detailed clinical work (20 inches or less)

Work Environment
  • Regular exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious materials

  • Frequent exposure to electrical/mechanical equipment, chemicals, and bodily fluids

  • Requires flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency situations

  • Extended standing and walking (8+ hours per shift)

  • Occasional prolonged sitting (4+ hours)
