Function/Duties of Position

Clinical responsibilities include overseeing the daily activities of the section which encompasses a broad imaging caseload generated by five SPECT/CTs, two digital PET/CTs, and a PET/MRI. We also have a robust theranostics program with particularly active neuroendocrine tumor, prostate cancer, and research therapies. There is also strong support from medical physics and an active dosimetry program. Participation in various multidisciplinary tumor boards is expected and shared amongst the faculty. Active involvement of the educational activities of the department is expected, including the Radiology residency as well as the Nuclear Medicine residency/fellowship programs.

While not required, an interest and involvement in research is valued given the current trajectory of the field in general and at OHSU. This may involve a variety of research types including investigator-initiated studies, industry-sponsored clinical trials, or retrospective projects for both radionuclide imaging and therapy. The Center for Radiochemistry Research (CRR) is a state-of-art cyclotron facility, which may be available for collaboration to develop radionuclides for basic science, small and large animal experiments, or human clinical trials. Trainees of many levels and a strong departmental research team is available for support.
