Digital Animator - GenAI and Compositing (Temporary)
Location: Remote
Reporting to: Sr. Director of Animation
$40-$50 per hour, depending on experience

Pocket.watch is currently seeking a talented Digital Animator for a short term project that has the combined talents of compositing and animation and has embraced the addition of AI tools. The ideal candidate has 4 years of After Effects and Adobe CC experience as well as a year using Generative AI. This is an excellent opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a trailblazing entertainment company and work with top industry executives.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with other artists, directors and producers to create cutting edge visuals from concept to render.
• Complete shots and sequences using a combination of Adobe CC tools, Compositing, Motion Graphics and Gen AI workflows.
• Work with the Director to break down scripts into sequences and shots focusing on visual storytelling.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Knowledge and Experience

• 4+ years of industry experience working with Adobe Creative Cloud applications including After Effects and Photoshop.
• 2+ years as a storyboard artist or animator, or visual storyteller.
• 1+ years experience with GenAI Image to Video tools such as Runway, Kling, Veo.
• 1+ years experience with LLMs, Prompting and Agentic workflows.
• Experience with using Motion capture and video references to drive performance with AI tools.
• Familiarity with ComfyUI, AI Toolkit and LORA training is a plus.

• Excellent communication / interpersonal skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and an eye for layout and composition.
• Ability to improvise and adapt to shifting project goals.
• Solid organization skills with adherence to file structures, naming conventions, and other established protocols.
• Independent and self-driven; able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision in a fast-paced production environment.

Work environment

• Work is remote and can be done in the environment of the employee’s choosing.

Physical demands

• Must have close visual acuity to perform the primary responsibilities of this position.
• Work is sedentary in nature and involves sitting most of the time.
• Must have good physical dexterity and the ability to constantly operate a computer, mouse, etc.
