About the Role:
The Quality Engineer ensures that optical products meet rigorous quality standards and customer expectations. You will analyze and improve audit processes, identify potential quality issues, and implement corrective actions. Using your knowledge of optical glass and engineering principles, you’ll interpret drawings, support inspections, and collaborate across teams to drive continuous improvement and enhance product reliability.• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Optical Engineering, or related field
• Basic understanding of optical glass types and their properties
• Familiarity with quality audit processes and manufacturing quality standards
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Expertise in audit improvement, optical materials, technical drawings, problem‑solving, and cross‑functional communication to ensure consistent product quality and support ongoing process enhancements
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in a manufacturing environment focused on optical components or related products.
• Knowledge of advanced optical engineering concepts and measurement techniques.
• Certification in quality management systems such as Six Sigma or ASQ.
• Proficiency with quality improvement tools and software.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct detailed audits of manufacturing processes to identify areas for quality improvement and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Analyze optical glass materials and components to verify conformity with technical specifications and performance criteria.
• Interpret optical engineering drawings and documentation to guide quality inspections and troubleshooting activities.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to develop and implement process improvements that reduce defects and enhance product quality.
• Document quality findings, prepare reports, and communicate results to stakeholders to support continuous improvement initiatives.
For California, the base salary range for this role is $82,224–$144,000.00.
