Summer Microbiology Lab Technician, Part-Time (Waretown, NJ) at Garden State Laboratories – Ocean Township, New Jersey

About the role

Garden State Laboratories, Inc. is seeking seasonal part-time laboratory technicians to work on weekends and select optional weekdays this summer season, from late May until early September. Lab technicians will report to the Microbiology Supervisor in our Jersey Shore Lab located in Waretown, NJ. The shift is generally from 10 am to 6 pm on weekends and from 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays, however the ending time can vary slightly depending on when the scheduled work has been completed. Compensation will be $16.00 per hour.

What you'll do

The primary responsibilities of the Summer Microbiology Technician may include preparing media; receiving samples and recording temperatures; logging sample data into the Company’s system; analyzing samples and recording results; and performing routine laboratory maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

No prior experience is required, but successful candidates should possess a high school degree or equivalent experience; have general computer skills; have previous work experience that required detailed tasks; and have some background (education or work) in the sciences. Prior laboratory experience is a plus.
