ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Electronics Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the modification, installation, and maintenance of advanced electronic systems on F-15 and F-16 aircraft. This role requires the ability to work independently with limited supervision, interpreting complex technical data to ensure mission readiness.
GENERAL DUTIES:
- Perform modifications on F-15 and F-16 Suite 6 aircraft electronics, including the installation and termination of instrumentation wiring, connectors, and integrated electronic systems.
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure the reliability of critical equipment and systems.
- Detect, diagnose, and troubleshoot malfunctions by performing comprehensive system tear-down, repair, and component replacement.
- Conduct precise alignment, calibration, and testing of modified or repaired equipment to verify operational performance.
- Job functions include installation; troubleshooting; repair; alignment; and operation of typical electronic equipment such as radar systems, computers, data systems, laser, electro-optics, infrared, telemetry, and communication systems.
- Will be capable of performing job functions utilizing appropriate manuals, schematics, and other documentation.
- Must be able to lift, pull, or carry weight and size commensurate with job requirements.
- Some tasks and assignments such as the installation; operation; and maintenance of mobile systems, aircraft systems, or range instrumentation will require work performance in outside environments with exposure to the conditions typical of the various work locations.
- Must assist higher-level technicians in accomplishing modifications as well as identifying problems requiring further investigation.
- May be required to assist senior level technicians in performing software adaptations and computer problem solving and repair or perform minor actions without higher-level assistance.
- May be required to handle hazardous material/waste.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- Alternating shifts are a requirement.
- Must be able to work night shift for an extended period.
- Other duties may include Range support missions (road guard missions, frag counting, and lawn maintenance).
- Fabricate, assemble, and install electronic components and systems in accordance with detailed technical orders, plans, and specifications.
Job Requirements:
OTHER DUTIES: Other functions include assisting in the orientation and training of other technicians at this level when directed by the supervisor. May be assigned additional responsibilities as a lead technician. Will perform general housekeeping and other job related tasks of a non-technical nature such as cleaning the interior and exterior of vehicles and support vans, corrosion control, painting, lawn care, and others. May be required to handle hazardous material/hazardous waste.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Graduate of a technical or military service school in a relevant field. A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in aircraft electronics. Proficiency in reading and interpreting Air Force Technical Orders. In-depth knowledge of electronic component characteristics and their applications. Demonstrated expertise with standard test instruments, including oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and frequency measuring equipment.
Preferred Skills:
- Cross-disciplinary mechanical skills for repairing servo systems, pedestal-drive systems, and waveguide installations.
- Experience with optics related to laser and camera systems is highly desirable.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: May perform work assignments in a temperature and humidity-controlled environment. Some tasks and assignments such as the installation; operation; and maintenance of mobile systems, aircraft systems, or range instrumentation will require work performance in outside environments in heat or cold with exposure to the conditions typical of various work locations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Required to climb, bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds, pull, or carry heavy items.
