This role offers a high-impact opportunity to serve as the subject-matter expert for Zuora Revenue within a strategic financial transformation project. You will lead all Zuora-specific activities from discovery and design through production cutover, supporting a NetSuite Chart of Accounts (COA) reimplementation for a large enterprise SaaS client. The position requires deep technical expertise in revenue management, ASC 606 compliance, and Zuora configuration, combined with strong project leadership and consulting experience. You will collaborate closely with finance, IT, and operations teams to ensure a seamless migration, accurate revenue recognition, and fully auditable outcomes. This engagement demands precision, accountability, and an ability to provide strategic guidance while managing complex financial data flows. Your contributions will directly influence the success of an enterprise-scale revenue system transformation.
- Assess and document current Zuora Billing and Zuora Revenue configurations, including journal entry rule sets, performance obligation (POB) accounts, and revenue templates
- Map Zuora segment dimensions to the future-state COA and develop field-level mapping workbooks for integrated solution specifications
- Advise on Zuora Revenue data model implications of COA redesign and segment model changes
- Reconfigure Zuora Billing journal entry rules and Zuora Revenue POB account assignments to align with the redesigned GL structure
- Execute revenue schedule migration with full data integrity, ensuring zero impact on recognized revenue
- Design and perform system integration testing (SIT) and financial close simulations under the new COA
- Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), manage defect resolution, and support production cutover with full configuration handoff
Requirements:
- 5+ years hands-on experience with Zuora Revenue (formerly RevPro), including journal entry rules, revenue templates, and POB assignments
- 3+ years of Zuora Billing configuration experience, including journal entry rules and GL mapping
- Direct experience with GL account remapping in Zuora Revenue, including revenue schedule migration and subledger-to-GL reconciliation
- Strong understanding of ASC 606 applied to SaaS, including SSP allocation, contract modifications, variable consideration, deferred revenue rollforward, and multi-book architecture
- Experience supporting mid-market or enterprise B2B SaaS organizations with multi-element subscription arrangements
- Excellent consulting, communication, and project management skills with a track record of delivering high-accountability engagements
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in public company or pre-IPO environments with SOX compliance, audit readiness, or SEC reporting
- Zuora Revenue certification or formal training credentials
- Experience managing revenue migrations across fiscal year boundaries or active audit periods
- Exposure to NetSuite or similar ERP systems as a GL system of record
Benefits:
- Independent contractor engagement, approximately 10 months with up to 200 hours total
- Hourly rate: $125–$175 USD, commensurate with experience and expertise
- Flexible, remote work arrangement within the United States
- Opportunity to work on a high-profile financial transformation project for an enterprise SaaS client
- Engagement in a technically challenging, strategic, and highly visible role with direct impact on revenue operations
