Overview
This is a remote role – incumbents, who reside in Oregon or Washington only. There may be occasional situations that require work to be performed on-site at an assigned Legacy Health location. All new hires are required to come to a designated Legacy Health office location in Portland, Oregon prior to their start date for a new hire health assessment and to complete new hire paperwork. This position may require initial training and orientation to be site-based, before transitioning to the remote schedule.

Staff Accountant II:
- Staff Accountant II is responsible for preparing and recording financial activity for assigned entities, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
- Analyzes revenue and expense activity and prepares month-end accrual and prepaid entries.
- Prepares materials for month-end close meetings and presents results of operations to senior management.
- Prepares financial statements for various programs within assigned entities and provide clear documentation and analysis.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, and investigates and resolves variances and discrepancies.
- Apply knowledge of accounting principles and practices to complete detailed accounting tasks.
- Assists internal and external auditors and stakeholders, supports budget staff in developing budgets, communicates with Finance partners and management, and participates in special projects as needed.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent major or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Three to five years of previous experience in accounting and financial statement preparation or one to three years of public accounting experience.
Skills:
- Must be able to work independently with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate ideas, plans, and directions effectively verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency in intermediate PC spreadsheet abilities and in interfacing with complex computerized accounting systems.
