About the Role

Food Services Cooks prepare and serve nutritious meals for clients receiving inpatient substance use disorder treatment. You’ll work as part of a team to provide reliable, nourishing meals clients can count on, while following dietary needs and safe kitchen practices in a supportive, fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

As a Food Services Cook, your day-to-day work focuses on preparing and serving meals according to set menus, keeping the kitchen clean and organized, and working with other staff to support daily operations.

Weekend availability is required to support Saturday and Sunday coverage as part of a collaborative team schedule.

On a typical shift, you will:

  • Prepare and cook meals based on set menus and dietary guidelines
  • Make sure meals are ready on time and served consistently
  • Adjust meals as needed for special diets, allergies, or restrictions
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and up to food safety standards
  • Store food properly to keep it fresh and safe
  • Help track food inventory and assist with grocery shopping
  • Clean kitchen equipment and work areas and report any issues
  • Complete basic paperwork related to food prep, inventory, or sanitation
  • Communicate with residential and treatment staff about meals or dietary needs
  • Interact with clients in a calm, respectful, and professional way
  • Help with food preparation for agency events or special occasions when needed

This role works in a structured setting, and consistency matters. If you like knowing what’s expected, following clear routines, and doing work that directly supports people’s wellbeing, this is a good fit.
