Forklift Operator in Elkhart, Indiana at Winona Powder Coating Inc

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts and heavy equipment to move materials efficiently throughout the manufacturing floor. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.

Responsibilities

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, to transport goods within the facility.

Perform order picking tasks accurately.

Moving material containers while ensuring proper handling techniques.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations.

Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure functionality and report any issues promptly.

Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and deadlines.

Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center setting.

Computer skills for tracking and printing work orders, updating job status, and completing accurate data entry; comfortable with scanners and learning new systems quickly (experience with PLEX ERP preferred).

Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is preferred.

Strong attention to detail.

Commitment to maintaining safety standards.

Physical stamina to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Certification for forklift operation is mandatory

3+years experience on a forklift.

Comfortable moving 23' materials in and out of 12' doorways.
