Job Description
Summary: CHRI is a multi-hospital system located in Rhode Island. Both hospitals, RWMC and OLF, are full-service Med/Surg hospitals with 24-hour Emergency Departments. Other hospital services include Inpatient Adult Psychiatry, Inpatient Eating Disorders, General surgery, Urology, G.I., Ortho, Surgical Oncology, Bariatric Surgery, Internal medicine, and a full array of Outpatient Services.
Under the direction of the CHRI CEO, the COO is responsible for the administrative, operational, and assigned ancillary departments of the hospitals. The ideal candidate will possess both administrative experience, sense of urgency, and the financial acumen to accomplish the requirements below:

Responsible for insuring the efficient financial and clinical operations of their assigned areas.

Expected to actively participate in and lead hospital wide expense initiatives, operational improvements and quality initiatives in a collaborative manner.

Meeting or exceeding Quality metrics within assigned areas.

Development of successful operational, capital, and strategic plans for their assigned areas.

Work collaboratively with Management Team, medical staff, and physician leadership to achieve financial and operating goals.
Education: Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree (MBA, MPA, or MPH) preferred
Experience: 5-7 years’ relevant experience at a Senior Managerial Level with emphasis in clinical operations and finance. Familiarity with administration of academic clinical programs preferred

Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis with previous experience overseeing human resources, information technology, and legal.

Skilled in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.

Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team.

Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to corporate mission.

Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems.

Strong English verbal and writing communication skills are also required.

Must have access to reliable transportation to travel between multiple work sites; and travel is required in order to perform essential duties

Able to work in a matrixed organization and balance local needs/demands with those of corporate.
Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or Safety Requirements: Requirements include standing, walking, and sitting. Manual skills are required such as finger, eye and hand dexterity for such activities as utilization of a computer.
