About the Role:
The Facilitator Instructor delivers TRADOC-aligned leadership instruction to senior Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) through a structured distributed learning environment using Blackboard Learning Management System. The Facilitator Instructor is responsible for executing Government-approved lesson plans, facilitating guided discussions, leading practical exercises, and evaluating student coursework. The role requires consistent engagement with students to assess performance, provide structured and actionable feedback, and support professional military education outcomes aligned with Army doctrine. This position also manages administrative aspects of course delivery, including student enrollment, roster management, counseling, and graduation or dismissal actions in accordance with established course standards. The Facilitator Instructor works closely with the Site Lead and Government personnel to ensure daily operational effectiveness, maintain required facilitator-to-student ratios, and support courseware updates. Success in this role ensures consistent, high-quality instructional delivery that prepares senior NCOs for advanced leadership responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of U.S. Army Professional Military Education (PME) required.
- Former U.S. Army Master Sergeant (E8) or service equivalent required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory or management experience.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating instructor-led training, preferably within a PME environment.
- Working knowledge of adult learning principles and structured course delivery methods.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Learning Management Systems (Blackboard preferred).
- Ability to evaluate student performance and provide structured, actionable feedback.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities in a structured training environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (NACI) clearance and meet Fort Bliss installation access requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Leadership, Military Science, or related field.
- Prior experience as an instructor at a Non-Commissioned Officer Academy (NCOA), Master Leader Course (MLC), Senior Leader Course (SLC), or equivalent.
- Familiarity with TRADOC Regulation 350-70 and Army training development frameworks.
- Knowledge of Army Doctrine Publications (ADPs), ADRPs, and Field Manuals.
- Experience facilitating distributed learning (DL) or hybrid instructional environments.
- Prior experience supporting USANCOA or similar Army training institutions.
- Completion of Common Faculty Development – Instructor Course (CFD-IC) or ability to obtain within six (6) months.
- Completion of Blackboard LMS qualification, Instructor Writing Course (IWC), and other USANCOA Instructor Certification Program (ICP) requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver TRADOC-aligned leadership instruction to senior NCOs in a distributed learning environment using Blackboard LMS.
- Execute Government-approved lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments in accordance with course standards.
- Facilitate structured discussions and practical exercises that reinforce leadership competencies and Army doctrine.
- Evaluate student coursework and performance, providing timely, structured, and actionable feedback.
- Manage student enrollment, rosters, counseling sessions, and graduation or dismissal actions in compliance with course requirements.
- Maintain required facilitator-to-student ratios and ensure consistent instructional quality across all sessions.
- Collaborate with the Site Lead and Government personnel to support daily operations, reporting requirements, and scheduled meetings.
- Support courseware updates and continuous improvement efforts aligned with TRADOC guidance and evolving Army doctrine.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual, regulatory, and installation requirements.
Skills:
The Facilitator Instructor applies strong facilitation and instructional skills to deliver structured, engaging learning experiences in a distributed environment. The ability to guide senior NCOs through complex leadership concepts requires both credibility and command presence, supported by prior operational and PME experience.
Instructional effectiveness depends on the ability to assess student performance against defined standards and provide clear, actionable feedback that supports development. Familiarity with Army doctrine and TRADOC frameworks ensures that all instruction remains relevant and compliant.
Proficiency in Blackboard LMS and other digital tools enables effective course delivery, student tracking, and administrative management. Strong organizational skills support the simultaneous management of instruction, student engagement, and reporting requirements.
Success in this role requires professionalism, adaptability, and the ability to operate independently while contributing to a coordinated instructional team supporting mission-critical leadership development.
