About This Position

Description:

The Maintenance Technician is a skilled – level role responsible for executing intermediate troubleshooting, preventive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment. This role requires demonstrated proficiency in mechanical systems and developing knowledge of electrical and hydraulic/pneumatic systems. The technician works with limited supervision and is responsible for ensuring that equipment is operational, efficient, and maintained in accordance with quality and safety standards.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Independently perform preventive maintenance based on schedules and
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical components including belts, gears, bearings, seals, and chain drives.
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting on electrical components such as motors, switches, relays, and sensors.
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams, machine manuals, and schematics.
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and minor fabrication tasks.
  • Collaborate with production personnel to identify and resolve maintenance issues affecting performance.
  • Support safety inspections and lead safety-related maintenance tasks (e.g., emergency stop checks, guarding assessments).
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and update CMMS work orders consistently and thoroughly.
  • Participating in root cause analysis efforts for chronic failures or recurring issues.
  • Serve as a technical resource for Maintenance Tech I team members.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required, post-secondary technical training certification preferred.
  • 2-5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in manufacturing or production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform mechanical repairs and basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA standards, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and general machine safety.
  • Familiarity with CMMS or digital work order systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic setting.
