Summary

A Houseperson at Hampton Inn and Suites assist with custodial work in guest room hotel common areas and around the building.

Essential Functions

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to performs all essential duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Retrieve dirty linen from rooms and room attendant carts
• Dispose of garbage from rooms, attendant carts, and garbage cans in and around the property
• Stock rooms and carts with clean linen
• Place appropriately in linen chute and dispose of trash in dumpster
• Maintain hotel hallways and all common areas clean
• Report issues to maintenance and/or management
• Deliver toiletries to rooms
• Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, and equipment
• Assist maintenance as needed
• Perform additional housekeeping and laundry services as needed
• Assists Engineering with projects as needed

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand and walk for an entire shift and perform repetitive motions., use continuous movements to handle or feel and reach, and being able to hold a conversation with other team members and/or guests.

The employee is regularly required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, and moving up to 25-30 pounds. You will also lift or move up to 50 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Required Experience

Experience working in hotel environment preferred

Preferred Education

High school diploma or GED diploma preferred.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be legally authorized to work in the country. Must be willing to undergo a background check.
