Position Summary
As the Pastry Sous Chef at All Well, you will support the development, execution, and consistency of the pastry program. This role is focused on recipe development, costing, and maintaining quality during service while contributing to a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen. You will work closely with the chef team to bring new ideas to life, ensure consistency across all pastry offerings, and support a smooth and well-run operation.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist in the development and execution of the pastry program
- Support recipe development, testing, and documentation
- Contribute to menu costing and ingredient management
- Prepare and execute pastry and dessert items according to established standards
- Ensure all items meet quality, consistency, and presentation expectations
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of pastry stations and storage areas
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate ordering needs
- Assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries
- Support prep production and ensure readiness for service
- Maintain proper food safety, sanitation, and storage standards
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to support overall service flow
- Assist with training and supporting team members as needed
About You:
- 3+ years of pastry or baking experience; experience in a lead or senior role preferred
- Strong understanding of baking and pastry techniques
- Experience with recipe development and costing preferred
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Detail-oriented with a focus on consistency and execution
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to multitask and adapt during service
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds, and frequently reaching, bending, and stooping
