About This Position
GENERAL SUMMARY: Perform direct and indirect patient care to a specific group of critically ill patients following the plan of nursing care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Assists in the admission, transfer and discharge of patients including setting up room and placing patients on cardiac monitor.
Performs periodic patient care rounds, anticipates and meets patient care needs.
Troubleshoots and maintains equipment i.e., cardiac monitors, suction equipment, telemetry etc.
Supports and complies with Mount Sinai Hospital Medical Center’s mission, philosophy goals and policies.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
- One-year hospital, nursing home or paramedic experience within the last two years.
- Successful completion of the orientation process.
- High School graduate or equivalent
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Certificate of completion from an approved nurse assistant training program or other appropriate education e.g. nursing or medical student
