Adult Program Nurse Overview
Join our dedicated team as an Adult Program Nurse at Melmark New England, where you will manage and resolve health problems for individuals in our adult day and residential programs. Adult Program Nurse Schedule and Salary Information
- Depending on experience, pay starts at $85,000 per year
- Full-time position requiring flexible scheduling options, including on-call rotations and occasional weekend and holiday coverage
Adult Program Nurse Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred; Registered Nurse considered
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse through the Massachusetts Board of Nurse Examiners
- One (1) year experience working with people with disabilities
- Knowledge of DPH MAP procedures
Adult Program Nurse Responsibilities
- Identify, manage, and resolve health problems for individuals in the adult day and residential program
- Maintain operational aspects of individual health care areas
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team
- Provide direct provision of safe, efficient, quality nursing care
- Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures
- Ensure timely development and documentation of nursing care plans and treatment plans
- Provide continuity of care and discharge planning
- Transcribe and carry out physicians' orders
- Provide health care teaching and education to individuals and families
- Act as a liaison between individuals, families, and physicians
- Investigate individual and family complaints and respond to crisis situations
- Promote and maintain a safe environment for individual care and employee safety
- Assume responsibility for infection control activities
- Evaluate staff performance and provide leadership and training
- Maintain proper equipment and supplies for healthcare services
- Participate actively on committees and in teaching employee orientation
- Assist with consulting medical staff and pharmacy liaison
