About This Position
The Materials Management director's role is to develop and implement systems to ensure optimal inventory levels and on-time deliveries to meet patient and staff requirements while minimizing expenses. The director is responsible for the managerial functions of planning, staffing and directing activities of assigned areas of responsibility. This role is responsible for adherence to GPO contractual obligations, executing processes, standards, and operational plans in support of GVMH's procurement goal including negotiations, cost accountability and program execution.
Responsibilities:
Effectively plans, manages and directs all department operations
Provides professional development coaching to department staff
Completes annual performance evaluations
Demonstrates fiscal accountability
Develops strategy for delivering quality programs and departmental goals
Defines performance objectives and metrics that support the strategic plan
Responsible for operational excellence to ensure delivery of quality services
Communicates effectively
Collaborates with other departments and leaders to create systems and problem-solve issues
Required:
Bachelor's degree
Three to five years' related experience
One to three years' supervisory experience
Preferred:
Certified Healthcare Supply Chain Analyst certification
