Position Description: Youth Development Workforce Innovator
Job Scope: The Youth Development Workforce Innovator is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating workforce development programs while building strong public awareness and outreach efforts. This role focuses on equipping youth, particularly from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, with the tools and skills needed for future careers while ensuring communication strategies align with organizational goals. The position encompasses workforce readiness initiatives, partnerships, youth training, and strategic communication to foster community engagement and promote the Clubs mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Workforce Development & Training:
Develop and oversee training, mentorship, and career development programs for youth.
Facilitate job readiness initiatives, internships, mentorships, and service learning opportunities in partnership with community and corporate organizations.
Youth Development Programs:
Design professional development programs for youth aged 8-18, focusing on job readiness and career pathways.
Collaborate with workforce system partners to connect youth to training, internships, and job placement services.
Technology & Computer Exposure:
Introduce youth to technology fundamentals, coding, and hands-on digital literacy programs.
Facilitate access to tech labs, organize field trips, and offer certification programs in STEM-related fields.
Communication & Outreach:
Develop and implement communication strategies to promote the Clubs services and programs.
Create marketing materials (newsletters, flyers, social media) and track the success of outreach efforts.
Collaboration & Partnerships:
Build relationships with educational institutions, workforce boards, and industry leaders to provide career opportunities for youth.
Help secure and manage funding and resources to support workforce development initiatives.
Program Evaluation & Reporting:
Establish metrics to measure program effectiveness, such as career advancement, retention, and wage growth.
Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders to communicate program impact and results.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree (BA) or equivalent experience in workforce development, education, or a related field.
2-5 years of management experience with a demonstrated passion for youth development and workforce innovation.
Strong writing, editing, communication, and research skills.
Ability to evaluate, make decisions, and develop solutions while working collaboratively with staff and stakeholders.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and digital communication tools.
Key Competencies:
Strategic Planning: Develop measurable goals for workforce programs and grant objectives.
Leadership: Provide oversight for staff and ensure the successful delivery of workforce readiness programs.
Resource Management: Support staff and volunteer development while earning workforce professional credentials.
Partnership Development: Build local partnerships with workforce boards, corporations, and educational institutions to enhance youth career pathways.
