About This Position
SUMMARY
The Courier role collaborates with other internal departments to coordinate the delivery of supplies, records, materials and other designated items between Welia Health sites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Drives a company van to transport and deliver items as needed between Welia Health sites every day Monday to Friday. Employee will perform external errands, pick-ups, and deliveries as needed.
Regularly inspect and perform safety checks of the courier vehicle; maintain courier vehicle in clean, orderly, safe and operating condition. Responsible for coordinating maintenance and/or service as needed.
Plan and/or cooperate in establishing schedules, follow established schedules, adjust schedules to meet unanticipated changes, and determine the safest and most efficient pick-up and delivery routes.
Understands the proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
Supports the policies and procedures of the organization and the standards of the Joint Commission as required for full accreditation.
Demonstrates a strong and positive work ethic that promotes cohesiveness and morale based on the Bee Positive behavior standards put forth by Welia Health.
Employee must be a self-starter and comfortable working independently.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma and one year of experience preferred. Minnesota Class D driving record in compliance with Welia Health policy regarding insurability.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
