Temporary Part-Time Maintenance Worker – Parking Utility Department (Up to 28 Hours per Week)Schedule: Up to 28 hours per week. Weekend availability is required. Evening, holiday, and emergency response work may also be required.Position Summary:The Township is seeking a reliable and motivated Part-Time Maintenance Worker to support the Parking Utility Department. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of municipal parking facilities, including surface parking lots, parking decks, and related infrastructure. Duties include general facility maintenance, landscaping, snow and ice removal, painting, and other tasks necessary to ensure parking facilities remain safe, attractive, and operational. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Operations Supervisor.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Parking Facility MaintenancePerform routine cleaning and maintenance of municipal parking lots and parking decks.Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance and safety concerns.Repair or report damaged equipment, signage, fencing, pavement, and other infrastructure.Maintain the overall appearance and functionality of parking facilities.Landscaping and Grounds MaintenanceMow, trim, weed, and maintain landscaped areas surrounding parking facilities.Remove litter, debris, and other refuse to maintain clean and presentable public spaces.Perform seasonal grounds maintenance as needed.Painting and Graffiti RemovalPaint parking stalls, directional markings, curbs, crosswalks, and other designated areas.Remove graffiti from Township property in a timely manner.Winter OperationsOperate snowplows, salt spreaders, and other snow removal equipment, as assigned.Shovel sidewalks, stairways, and pedestrian access areas.Apply salt and de-icing materials to maintain safe conditions during inclement weather.General Department Support:Assist with the installation of temporary signage, barricades, and equipment for special events or maintenance projects.Respond promptly to work orders and supervisor requests.Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental operations.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent, or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Experience in general maintenance, groundskeeping, landscaping, or snow removal is preferred.Ability to safely operate hand tools, power equipment, and machinery used in facility and grounds maintenance.Ability to perform strenuous physical labor, including lifting up to 80 pounds, bending, climbing, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.Must possess a valid driver's license.Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs as operational needs require.CompensationHourly Rate: $19.66 per hourThis is a part-time position and is not eligible for Township-sponsored health insurance, pension benefits, or paid time off.
