El Camino Health Medical Network is currently seeking a highly skilled Vice President of Compliance to join our growing team!

Pay: $220,000-$275,000 annualized

Location: Santa Clara County

The Vice President of Compliance is a senior executive responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive compliance program to ensure the organization adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role acts as a strategic advisor to executive leadership and the board of directors, helping to mitigate risk, promote a culture of ethics, and safeguard the organization’s integrity and reputation.

Essential Functions:

Compliance Leadership & Strategy

  • Direct and continuously enhance the organization’s enterprise-wide compliance program across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory environments.
  • Develop and execute annual compliance work plans, aligning initiatives with organizational priorities and emerging regulatory trends.
  • Lead incident response, investigations, and remediation efforts in collaboration with legal and operational teams.

Regulatory Oversight & Risk Management

  • Monitor regulatory and legislative changes; assess their impact on business operations and advise leadership accordingly.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments, internal audits, and oversight reviews to identify gaps and ensure timely resolution.
  • Manage external audits and respond to regulator inquiries and reporting requirements, ensuring timely, accurate submissions.

Board & Executive Reporting

  • Prepare and present regular compliance updates, dashboards, and incident reports to senior executives and the board of directors.
  • Track compliance metrics and lead reporting efforts to ensure transparency, accountability, and data-driven decision-making.

Training, Policy, and Culture

  • Oversee the design and implementation of compliance education and training for staff at all levels. Develop and update internal policies and procedures to reflect current regulatory expectations and promote ethical conduct.
  • Champion a culture of integrity and ethical behavior across the organization.

Delegation Oversight (if applicable)

  • Oversee delegated entity compliance, ensuring performance meets regulatory and contractual standards.
  • Serve as liaison between the organization and delegated partners to foster collaborative compliance efforts.
  • Lead performance audits, enforce corrective action plans, and streamline operational oversight processes.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, law, or related field required.
  • Master’s degree or Juris Doctor (JD) preferred.
  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), or equivalent credential strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in healthcare or managed care compliance, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Deep expertise in regulatory compliance, delegation oversight, audits, investigations, and policy development.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex compliance programs in dynamic environments with diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare laws and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, CMS, DHCS, NCQA).
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and work collaboratively with regulatory agencies and external partners.
  • Strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to compliance execution and risk mitigation.

Preferred:

  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), or equivalent credential strongly preferred.
