The Role
Why Does Your Role Matter?
Your role as an Engineer will be multi-faceted. Responsible for researching and developing ideas and processes for new products. Improves upon the performance and design of existing products. The ideal candidate will be driven, able to deal with setbacks and changes that come with the design and development process, sweat the details and above all, invested in the success of the team.
Essential Functions for this Role:
- Creation of bike parts and assemblies with 3d and 2d CAD (Solidworks)
- Communication with overseas vendors and factories
- Ability to turn rough sketches into manufacturable products
- Using Product Development Management (PDM) system and maintaining internal systems
- Use of rapid prototype equipment for design evaluation
- Knowledge & understanding of what needs to be engineered when and where
- Ability to turn feedback into products and updates quickly
Ideal Qualifications Include:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
- 2 to 4 years of mechanical engineer and/or bike design and engineering experience preferred
- FEA of bike assemblies and parts (FEA skills not required, but appreciated)
- Development of test plans and evaluation methods
- Previous experience working with external vendors
- Exceptional communication skills, with ability to collaborate with co-workers and executives of varied levels of technical ability is important.
- Motivated, self-starter with the ability to easily between strategy and execution.
- Ability to work independently
- Some travel required (international)
- Awareness to ask for help when needed
Physical Demands:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. The team member frequently communicates with internal team members, investors and vendors. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Constantly operates a computer. Occasionally moves items up to 50 lbs. for various projects.
Compensation:
- Base salary negotiable (depending on experience)
- An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of experience.
