Job Description

About the Role:

The Safety Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of employees within the Oil and Gas Extraction and Mining industries. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs that comply with regulatory standards and promote a culture of safety. The Safety Specialist will conduct thorough accident investigations to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent future incidents. Additionally, this role involves conducting safety audits and training sessions to enhance employee awareness and adherence to safety protocols. Ultimately, the Safety Specialist aims to minimize workplace hazards and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a safety role within the Oil and Gas or Mining industries.
  • Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CIH) is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with safety programs related to respiratory protection and fall protection.
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste management regulations and practices.
  • Master's degree in a related field or additional certifications in specialized safety areas.

Responsibilities:
