Warehouse Lead at Prairie Farms Dairy, Inc. – Faribault, Minnesota

Location: Faribault, MN

Summary: The Warehouse Lead is responsible for directing and coordinating the on-time shipment of confirmed customer orders through effective management of available resources budgetary, equipment, materials and personnel. Finished product is expected to meet or exceed Prairie Farms Quality and Food Safety standards as well as those of our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage raw materials inventories and schedule of RM transfers to support the packaging schedule and forecast.
• Work between the on and off site warehouses to effectively move product as needed
• This position does require a driver's license and travel between the two locations
• Work with management team to pro-actively identify and address issues of cheese inventory (disposition and availability).
• Drive efficiency and improvements with warehouse and packaging teams.
• Contribute to plant traceability team and provide tools and support to packaging and warehouse teams to meet expectation of 100% traceability of finished products.
• Assist managing shipping and receiving schedules
• Contribute to new item set-up and new product development processes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Prefer two years supervisory or leadership experience,
• Ability to work alone and make decisions when needed
• Prefer prior warehousing and forklift experience (understand inventory and scan process)
• Must have excellent organizational and planning skills
• Must demonstrate ability to participate in continual process improvements
• Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
• Working knowledge of software applications that apply to spreadsheets and word processing.
• Must have time management skills and the ability to organize and manage multiple assignments
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Flexible working hours will be required
• Must be able to verbally communicate, understand and write in the English language

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time. The employee is required to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift, bend, stoop, push/pull exerting up to 100 pounds of force and lift up to 50lbs. Requires visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. There is exposure to a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electric current, and exposure to heat/cold temperature changes. Must be able to tolerate allergen exposure to milk.
