System Operator at Connexus Energy – Ramsey, Minnesota

In this position, you will:

Communicate and work effectively with other departments and the community to accurately respond to distribution system issues.Create system switching orders and operational procedures for planned and emergency situations to ensure safe operation of the distribution system.Coordinate line crews during normal and escalated operations to restore service safely and efficiently.Monitor the performance of the electrical distribution system, remotely control system devices, and respond to disturbances and alarms.

Need to have:

High School or General Equivalency DiplomaKnowledge of electrical distribution systems and equipmentAbility to remain calm and make decisions in stressful and/or complex situationsAbility to clearly communicate, hear, and understand communications over the telephone and radioWorking knowledge of Microsoft 365 Ability to organize and prioritize work with a focus on safety and efficiencyAbility to work independently and within a team environmentAbility to work fully rotating 24/7 schedule of 13.33-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Nice to have:

Two or four year technical degree or equivalent experience of electrical distribution systems and equipment.Experience with electrical distribution systems, mapping, and construction techniquesExperience with Control Center applications such as OMS, SCADA, and GIS
