The Assistant Director of Construction Operations will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of residential construction projects. This role will work closely and report directly to the Director of Construction Operations. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with Sage Ventures' commitment to quality and affordability.

Position Overview
The Assistant Director of Construction Operations will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of residential construction projects. This role will work closely and report directly to the Director of Construction Operations. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with Sage Ventures' commitment to quality and affordability.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight:
- Manage all aspects of construction operations, from preconstruction planning to final delivery.
- Supervise and coordinate with project managers, estimators, and purchasing teams to ensure project goals are met.
- Budgeting and Procurement:
- Develop and manage project budgets, tracking costs and ensuring alignment with financial goals.
- Oversee purchasing activities, including contractor negotiations, bid analysis, and purchase orders.
- Project Management:
- Review and approve project plans, specifications, and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Serve as the primary liaison between stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams.
- Maintain effective communication to resolve issues and promote teamwork.
- Quality Assurance:
- Implement QA/QC procedures to ensure high standards in construction and materials.
- Monitor site progress and address challenges to meet or exceed client expectations.
- Strategic Development:
- Assist in developing new community specifications and budgets for future projects.
- Source and evaluate new contractors to maintain competitive pricing and high-quality work.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction operations, estimating, or purchasing.
- Strong knowledge of architectural, mechanical and civil plans.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., BuilderTrend, On-Screen Takeoff).
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
