Laundry and Housekeeping Aide at Jefferson Community Health Center – Fairbury, Nebraska

Jefferson Community Health & Life is looking for someone to work Full-time to work a shared position between Laundry and Housekeeping.

This position will work in both the Laundry and Housekeeping Department.

Hours: Full-Time. 6:30AM - 3PM, Monday thru Friday

QUALIFICATIONS:

* High School Diploma, GED or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Effective customer service skills

* Previous experience in laundry and/or housekeeping

* Attention to detail

Laundry Aide Position Summary:

Responsible for the collection, laundering, and distribution of linens and garments to ensure a consistent supply of clean, high-quality linens for the hospital, nursing home, fitness center, and assisted living facility. Maintains laundry equipment, follows infection control protocols, and ensures all linen needs are met to support excellent patient, resident and customer care.

Laundry Aide Essential Job Duties:

* Maintains sufficient clean linen stock

* Operates commercial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment.

* Ensures that all assigned dirty linen carts are emptied daily.

* Uses and disposes of chemicals according to directions.

* Sorts dirty linens in dirty room.

* Processes linens both clean and dirty.

* Maintains cleanliness of the laundry department.

* Folds and sorts nursing home residents clothing.

Housekeeping Aide Position Summary:

Ensure sanitization, sterilization, and cleanliness of patient rooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, work areas, and waiting rooms. Duties and responsibilities include removing medical waste from surgery and exam rooms, LTC, offices, meeting rooms, etc., cleaning windows, keeping foot-traffic areas clear, changing bed sheets, sweeping and vacuuming floors, mopping up spills, emptying trash receptacles, and removing debris from hallways. Use chemicals and supplies to disinfect and sterilize frequently touched surfaces. Remove trash and dispose of medical waste properly. Must be able to stand for long periods and have excellent time management, attention to detail, and communication skills. Maintains assigned areas in an acceptable manner using defined cleaning procedures and practices.

Housekeeping Aide Essential Job Duties:

* Works independently, effectively coordinates workflow, and performs all general cleaning procedures and practices as defined in housekeeping.

* Maintains standards of cleanliness in assigned areas as established by department policy.

* Carries out duties utilizing appropriate safety and security practices.

* Makes productive use of equipment and supplies.

* Performs carpet cleaning.

* Completes assigned work orders or projects in a timely fashion.
