The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to effectively prioritize a large volume of transactions and customer accounts, and a commitment to improving and automating processes as the business scales.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

· Maintain a working understanding of the billing process and its impact on accounts receivable and collections, including invoice generation, billing adjustments, credits, and customer inquiries.

· Participate in research of billing-related issues that delay payment and coordinate with appropriate internal teams to drive timely resolution.

· Perform new customer setup and maintenance of customer master data, ensuring information is complete, accurate, and appropriately supported.

· Support updates to customer billing information, payment terms, contacts, and other A/R-related master data in accordance with established processes and controls.

· Actively support month-end close activities related to accounts receivable, cash application, and customer balances.

· Prepare supporting schedules, reports, and documentation required for the close process.

· Proactively coordinate with accounting team and other stakeholders to resolve outstanding items before or as part of month-end close.

· Manage a high volume of customer accounts, receivable transactions, and cash applications while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and timely processing.

· Prepare, maintain, and distribute weekly A/R aging reports with clear, current, and actionable notes on past-due balances, collection activity, customer commitments, disputes, expected payment dates, risks, and next steps.

· Perform proactive collections across a high-volume customer portfolio, prioritizing efforts based on aging, value, risk, and payment commitments.

· Process and apply a high volume of customer payments accurately and timely, including ACH, wires, checks, and other applicable payment methods.

· Research and resolve unapplied cash, short payments, overpayments, deductions, unidentified receipts, and other exceptions efficiently.

· Maintain disciplined follow-up and documentation to ensure open items do not become lost within a high-volume transaction environment.

· Identify recurring transaction issues, bottlenecks, and manual activities that create inefficiencies or increase the risk of errors.

· Actively support process improvement and automation initiatives designed to increase processing efficiency, strengthen controls, improve reporting, and reduce manual effort.

· Partner with Accounting, Treasury, Finance, Operations, and technology teams to streamline and automate A/R, collections, cash applications, reconciliation, and reporting processes.

· Assist with testing and implementation of system enhancements and automated solutions, including documenting requirements, testing results, and updated processes.

Qualifications

· Prior experience working in a high-volume, transaction-intensive accounts receivable environment strongly preferred.

· Broad understanding of the order-to-cash cycle, including customer setup, billing, accounts receivable, collections, cash application, and account reconciliation.

· Experience supporting month-end close, including A/R reconciliations and resolution of outstanding items.

· Experience maintaining customer master data and understanding the importance of appropriate controls around customer setup and changes.

· Demonstrated ability to manage a large volume of transactions and competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

· Experience with collections, cash application, account reconciliation, and A/R aging management.

· Strong Excel and data-analysis skills, with the ability to review large datasets and identify exceptions or trends.

· Experience with ERP (Great Plains) systems and automated A/R, cash application, collection, or reconciliation tools preferred.

· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to independently research transaction-level discrepancies through resolution.

· Continuous-improvement mindset with demonstrated interest in standardization, automation, and reducing manual processing.
