About the Role:

The Machinist role is critical in manufacturing high-precision components by operating and maintaining various machine tools, including CNC machines and manual lathes. The primary objective is to produce parts that meet exact specifications and quality standards by interpreting blueprints and utilizing precision measuring instruments. This position requires a strong attention to detail to ensure all machined parts are free from defects and conform to design tolerances. The Machinist will collaborate closely with engineering and quality teams to optimize machining processes and troubleshoot any production issues. Ultimately, this role ensures the efficient and accurate fabrication of components that support the overall manufacturing goals of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience operating CNC machines and manual lathes in a machine shop environment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Knowledge of machining processes, tool and die operations, and deburring techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in CNC machining or related technical training.
  • Experience with advanced CNC programming and setup.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
  • Background in tool and die making or maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience in process optimization.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines and manual lathes to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining requirements and sequence of operations.
  • Perform precision measuring and inspection of finished parts using tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machine tools to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance.
  • Deburr, finish, and clean machined parts to prepare them for assembly or shipment, ensuring all components meet customer and company standards.

Skills:

The required skills such as CNC machine operation, precision measuring, and blueprint reading are essential for accurately producing machined parts that meet strict tolerances. Daily use of machine tools and manual lathes allows the Machinist to shape and finish components with high precision.
