Job Description

SUMMARY

The Orleans Parish Sheriffs’ Office operates a therapeutic program that has been positively impacting the Greater New Orleans area for the last 14 years. The New Orleans Day Reporting Center program has been successfully reducing recidivism by providing services designed to assist clients in the successful completion of their Probation or Parole time. The NODRC is a unique, comprehensive program that provides a wide variety of services, including intensive case management, IOP and MAT assistance, educational and vocational services, health and mental health services, and group and individual work.

The DRC Intake Coordinator position is in the New Orleans Day Reporting Center at the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office, and reports to the DRC Programs Director. The incumbent will provide support to clients referred to the program, complete all intake activities, and maintain data on potential clients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Schedule and complete intake appointments, orientation, and assessments with each new client referred to the program

  • Maintain an Intake Spreadsheet and a monthly client appointment calendar
  • Provide client updates and weekly referral alerts for the Probation Officers
  • Enter the newly enrolled client's information into the data entry system
  • Work closely with case managers, interns, or independently to assist clients referred to the program in crisis or with emergency needs
  • Participate in program recruitment activities/events
  • Complete monthly reports for contract compliance
  • Assist with the general program activities such as signing in clients upon arrival, distributing bus tokens, answering phones, graduations, etc.
  • Participating in weekly team meetings, team building activities, and required training
  • Facilitate weekly groups as needed
  • Must be capable of using a creative, strength-based approach with clients while providing ongoing support and accountability.

Requirements:

  • Applicants with a degree in a human /social service or related field are preferred.
  • Professional experience working with individuals who are high-risk or justice-involved people.
  • Applicants must be proficient with computers (Word, Office, and Excel) and have exceptional time management skills.
