The Surgical Services Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and maintaining accurate surgical schedules to support safe, efficient patient care and smooth operating room operations.
You would ensure surgical cases are scheduled accurately, priorities are managed appropriately, and communication between providers, anesthesia, and Surgical Services remains clear and timely.
This role reports to the Director of Surgical Services.

Essential Job Duties:
- Consults with Surgical Services leadership to manage scheduling priorities and daily workflow
- Schedules surgical cases accurately while coordinating provider needs, operating room availability, and anesthesia coverage
- Maintains up-to-date surgical schedules within Cerner to ensure real-time accuracy
- Serves as a communication liaison between the scheduling office, operating room, providers, and staff
- Answers and routes calls, messages, and inquiries promptly to support efficient operations
- Supports and mentors new staff as needed to ensure consistency and quality in scheduling practices
Qualifications:
- Excellent English reading and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Comfortable working with computers and scheduling systems
- Effective keyboarding and data entry skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
