Job Description

QuantalRF is seeking a highly motivated individual to play a key technical role in the development and evolution of its emerging RF/wireless technology. The ideal candidate will have a background in SCPI programming as well as validation and characterization of RFICs for cellular, Wi-Fi, and 5G applications including sub-6 GHz and mmWave. They will also have the ability to think out-of-the-box and interface seamlessly with other members of the engineering design team. Typical responsibilities include:

Perform validation and characterization of RF building blocks as well as RF Front-Ends designed in various silicon processes. Run and debug measurement scripts (in MATLAB and C#) for various small signal and large signal measurements.Analyze and scrutinize results before presentation to ensure decisions are made based on correct values Support RF lab operations including test setup, troubleshooting measurement discrepancies, and maintaining reliable RF test benches.Assist with PCB rework and soldering of RF components and connectors as needed to support product development lifecycle. Work closely with RF design engineers to debug performance issues and support product development from concept through production.
Required Skills and Experience

Innovative problem solver with a passion to win/contribute, ability to work in, and thrive in, a global and diverse team environment.Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field. New graduates and candidates with up to 2 years of experience are encouraged to apply. Candidates with additional experience may be considered based on qualifications.Knowledge of RF device tuning and characterization. Solid understanding of RF fundamentals such as Smith chart, impedance matching, Receiver Sensitivity, Linearity, etc.Familiarity with RF Front-End parameters such as NF, noise circles, IP2/IM2, IP3/IM3, Gain modes, S-parameters, as well as Tx path PAE, Gain, ACLR, power sweep, Rx Band Noise, harmonics, Spectrum Emission Mask, etc.Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.Experience with RF test equipment such as network analyzers, load-pull systems, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, digitizing oscilloscopes, DMMs, and programmable power supplies for characterization and tuning of design RF Front-End components.Programming experience in MATLAB, C#, or Python.
Additional Desirable Skills and Experience

Proficient in SCPI programming using MATLAB and C# Experience with version control software such as GitMaster's degree in Science, Engineering, or related fieldExperience with basic PCB rework and soldering of RF components and connectorsWireless communications knowledge, such as: OFDM, LTE, 802.11
