Kappa Delta House Director
JOB SUMMARY:
Kappa Delta Sorority is seeking to place a full-time house director open to any US location/geographical region. The house director provides direct oversight of facility cleaning and maintenance services and works with a kitchen management company to coordinate food services for the chapter house. The primary duty of the House Director is to oversee the day-to-day operations of the physical premises of the chapter house. The House Director is expected to utilize appropriate levels of independent judgment and discretion in the execution of her job duties. The house director must have strong interpersonal skills and have a positive attitude. The house director will also help to ensure the safety and welfare of both the collegiate live-in and live-out members of the sorority. The position requires strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-oriented approach. The ability to quickly identify problems, develop and timely implement solutions is also expected. The house director is required to reside in the chapter house while members are present and have schedule flexibility to provide property oversight during breaks as needed. In-person and virtual training is required.

- Ability to recognize maintenance and repair issues, and coordinate service
- Thorough knowledge of computers and applications associated with Office 365 (Word, Outlook and Excel), email and corresponding devices such as a printer and scanner.
- Versed in using a smartphone to communicate via text and group messaging
- Ability to climb up and down several flights of stairs and lift 25 pounds if necessary.
Education and/or Experience:
- An associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school (further education is a plus); or one or two years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
House Operations:
- Oversee the successful opening and closing of the chapter house at the beginning of the school year and after relevant school year breaks.
- Manage the daily operations of the chapter house by maintaining a safe, clean and pleasant living environment.
- Implement illness protocol when necessary.
- Oversee the operation of dining services provided by the kitchen management company.
- Manage and supervise the cleaning services provided by a cleaning service company.
- Inspect grounds, facilities, and equipment routinely to determine the necessity of repairs or maintenance and oversee all maintenance work at chapter house.
- Develop and implement for the long-term care and upkeep of the chapter house.
- As needed, procure quotes for needed repairs.
- Identify and present capital improvements for the chapter house.
- Maintain accessibility to the property per the house director contract and direction of the national property manager
Chapter and University Relationship:
- Maintain positive relationships with all Kappa Delta members and create an environment which strives to create an equitable, inclusive sisterhood that appreciates our diversity.
- Make effort to know all members by name and involvement.
- Meet weekly with the Director of Collegiate Facilities.
- Maintain an accurate floor plan with current occupants’ names and their phone numbers, parents’ names, addresses, contact numbers and emergency numbers.
- See that all members in the house understand and abide by local chapter house rules, national Kappa Delta house rules, and rules and regulations of the University.
- Keep in strict confidence the workings of the sorority, their personal, social and financial affairs, and those of their members.
- Maintain communication with university officials when appropriate.
- Attend university house director meetings.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Must be able to operate a computer and navigate applications with a smart phone, computer, and/or tablet.
- Position may require prolonged periods of sitting and/or walking.
- Must be able to use hand and arms for repetitive movement such as movement of wrists, hands, and fingers while typing.
- Must be able to converse verbally with colleagues via phone and computer programs.
- Vision required to see electronic devices and inspect properties.
- Ability to climb up and down several flights of stairs and lift 25 pounds if necessary.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
- Salary commensurate with experience.
- Housing accommodations (private suite with living room, bedroom and bathroom) provided within the Chapter House.
- Meals are provided Monday – Friday during times when the house is open to members through Chapter House food service provider.
