Position Summary

Jensen Metal Products is seeking an experienced Robotic Welding Technician to support our sheet metal contract manufacturing operations. This hands on role is responsible for setting up, programming, and optimizing a collaborative robotic (cobot) welding system to produce high quality, repeatable weldments. The Robotic Welding Technician plays a key role in improving throughput, weld consistency, and operator safety while supporting continuous improvement across welding processes.

This position requires strong technical expertise in robotic welding, fixture design, and blueprint interpretation, along with the ability to train and mentor team members transitioning into robotic welding operations.

Schedule Options:

  • 1st Shift: Monday – Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM (preferred)
  • 2nd Shift: Monday – Thursday, 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM (includes a $1.50/hr. shift premium)

Essential Functions

  • Set up, program, and operate collaborative robotic (cobot) welding equipment to meet production requirements
  • Design, build, and modify welding fixtures to improve efficiency, consistency, and weld quality
  • Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings to ensure accurate setups and programming
  • Troubleshoot robotic welding equipment, tooling, and programs to minimize downtime and maintain production flow
  • Train and mentor welders and operators who are new to robotic welding processes, ensuring proper use, safety, and quality standards
  • Partner with production, engineering, and quality teams to optimize welding programs, fixture designs, and process improvements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and repeatability
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, quality standards, and work instructions
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in robotic welding, including programming and fixture design
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings
  • Hands on experience with collaborative robots (cobots) preferred
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for robotic welding equipment and weld processes
  • Experience training or mentoring welders or operators on robotic welding equipment preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross functional teams

Physical Demands

  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, hands, fingers, legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, handling of materials, and operating machinery.
  • Perform repetitive motions using your hands and fingers such as, but not limited to, grasping, gripping, and holding.
  • Carrying & lifting 10 – 50lbs. frequently
