Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Scoliosis Physical Therapist to join our growing outpatient rehabilitation team. Reporting to the Supervisor of the Pediatric Service Line, this role is ideal for a clinician with advanced training in scoliosis-specific exercise therapy (Schroth or SEAS) who is passionate about delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care.

As a key member of a multidisciplinary care team, you will evaluate and treat patients with scoliosis while also supporting a diverse caseload of up to 50% orthopedic, neurological, or pediatric patients, depending on your clinical expertise. This position offers the opportunity to work with a specialized population while maintaining variety in clinical practice.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in scoliosis management, bracing protocols, postural correction, and therapeutic exercise, along with the ability to effectively educate patients and families on treatment plans and home exercise programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and assessments for scoliosis and related conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using Schroth or SEAS methods
  • Provide hands-on therapy, therapeutic exercise, and postural re-education
  • Collaborate with physicians, orthotists, and interdisciplinary team members on scoliosis care and bracing management
  • Treat a mixed caseload including orthopedic, neurologic, and/or pediatric patients (up to 50%)
  • Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment progression, and home exercise programs
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical documentation (EMR)
  • Deliver exceptional patient experience with a focus on clinical excellence and customer service

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program required

Experience

  • Previous outpatient physical therapy experience strongly preferred
  • Experience treating scoliosis, spine conditions, or pediatric orthopedic patients highly preferred

Licensure & Certification

  • Schroth or SEAS Certification required (or actively pursuing preferred if flexible)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 4 months of hire
  • Current Massachusetts Physical Therapist License required

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced clinical expertise in scoliosis treatment, spinal conditions, and postural therapy
  • Strong communication skills with ability to educate patients and families effectively
  • Experience with brace management and interdisciplinary coordination preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving and clinical decision-making abilities
  • Ability to manage a dynamic caseload and prioritize in a fast-paced outpatient setting
  • High level of professionalism and patient-centered care approach
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer skills
  • Strong commitment to patient satisfaction, service excellence, and quality outcomes
  • Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)
