About This Position
Position Summary
The Truckdriver operates a straight truck to transport materials, baggage, or equipment, over specified routes to local or distant points according to requirements. The Truckdriver must also comply with local traffic regulations and will report delays and/or accidents.
Essential Functions of the Position
- Operate a straight truck, 1 1/2 to 4 tons inclusive, usually 6 wheels.
- Load and unload truck with or without helpers.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew.
- Perform operator level inspections on vehicles.
- Report to management any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
- Comply with all applicable regulations, including but not limited to, DOT, Federal, State, local and
RRST vehicle operating rules and regulations.
Perform limited maintenance on vehicle.
Communicate with dispatcher on duty/management regarding delays or any issues along a route.
Check vehicle to ensure load weight distributed evenly.
Performs other duties in accordance with requirements as directed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
No direct supervisory duties.
Physical Demands
- Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, be in good physical condition and be able to work in all weatherconditions.
Work Environment
- Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
- Noise level can range from minimal to intense.
- Available to work at various hours of the day/night and weekends
Minimum Qualifications
- Must possess and present a valid state Real I.D. Driver’s License.
- Must have a clean driving record
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must conduct pre and post Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services.
Must maintain logs of working hours, following applicable regulations and requirements.
Must be able to operate a box truck safely and efficiently.
Must be able to read a map.
Must be able to speak, write, read, understand English, and follow written/verbal directions.
Must be willing to work flexible hours to accommodate requirements, sometimes under short notice, to
include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.Overtime may be required.
Employee must complete timesheets daily, ensuring accurate data, both manually and via required
system.Must submit to and pass random drug and/or alcohol testing.
Must perform other duties in accordance with requirements as directed.

- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must undergo a background check and pre-employment urinalysis.
